Week 1 has officially arrived, and apparently several NFL players decided that making fantasy managers happy was not part of their 2026 plans.

The Power Rankings Sponsored by: Big Bean Coffee Company has reviewed the Week 1 injury report, consulted multiple sources, consumed an irresponsible amount of coffee, and reached one undeniable conclusion:

Fantasy football is stupid.

Here are some of the biggest Week 1 injuries that had fantasy managers staring at their phones instead of watching the games.

πŸš‘ A.J. BROWN β€” NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Injury: High Ankle Sprain

The biggest addition to the Armchair Kickers injury report goes to A.J. Brown, who made his New England debut before his ankle decided it had other plans.

Brown finished with 3 catches for 26 yards on 4 targets before leaving the game. He was later placed on injured reserve and was expected to miss approximately six weeks.

For the T-Dogg Experience who drafted him high this is a massive hit. A quote from the head coach Tracy Wilson:

β€œIt’s just one injury and we have a deep healthy team, he’ll be back healther than ever. I’m not worried about it.”

The T-Dogg Experience might look to the waver wire to strengthen their depth after placing Brown on IR.

🧠 KYLER MURRAY β€” CONCUSSION

Kyler Murray’s Week 1 ended early after he suffered a concussion while sliding.

Luckly The HoeBo’s have him as the back up so this shouldn’t be an issue, with their starter being Jayden Daniels. Daniels has some injury history but I’m sure he’ll be fine this season.

However, it was sad to see Murray’s debut end as fast as Brett Wilson’s time as an actor. This injury will be a week by week thing to keep your eye on. The reports are positive and seems like Murray will be back soon than later.

🩹 ZAY FLOWERS β€” HAMSTRING

Zay Flowers was absolutely cooking before his hamstring decided to file for early retirement.

Flowers finished with 5 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown despite leaving before halftime.

That’s 150 yards before halftime.

The Viruses milked him for all his points they could before being ruled out. Jett Odle the coach said:

β€œZay Flowers? I don’t know who that is, I only know one player on my team and that is Mr.Josh Allen.”

After further evaluation this week it looks to be a grade one strain, meaning it’s not a serious injury and should be back soon.

However, we know how tricky hamstrings can be so we are keeping an eye on it.

πŸ’₯ LADD McCONKEY β€” CHEST

Ladd McConkey had a strong opening with 5 catches for 82 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a chest injury.

McConkey was highly productive for Big Odle Energy although leaving the game early. The coaching staff seems positive, and don’t think this will be lasting injury. The coaching staff says:

“We haven’t see a griddy, hard-working Wide Reciever who plays the position the right way since Julian Edelman.”

He’s listed as questionable, but trending towards not playing this week.

🦢 OMAR COOPER JR. β€” ANKLE

Cooper Jr. caught one pass for 30 yards before leaving with an ankle sprain.

Thirty yards on one catch.

Then immediately decided:

β€œThat’s enough production for one week.”

X-rays were negative, with further evaluation planned.

β˜• BIG BEAN FINAL REPORT

Week 1 Injury Level: 🚨🚨🚨🚨/5

The Armchair Kickers League officially recommends that all managers:

1. Check your injury reports.
2. Check your bench.
3. Check your waiver wire.
4. Take a deep breath.
5. Blame your fantasy team’s injuries on bad luck rather than your drafting.

And remember:

It’s only Week 1.

There’s plenty of time left to get hurt.
